Switching vault apps: how to move photos from another vault into Vaultpod

Moving between vault apps has one rule: never delete from the old app until the count matches in the new one.

1. Export from the old app. Use its export or unhide function to put the photos back into the Photos library, or into a folder in Files. Some apps limit how many you can export at once on a free plan; be patient and do it in batches.
2. Count them. Note how many photos and videos came out.
3. Import into Vaultpod. Add, From Photos (or From Files), select all, import. The app encrypts them one by one and shows progress.
4. Check the count in Vaultpod against your note.
5. Say yes to “Delete the originals?” Then also empty Recently Deleted in the Photos app, or the originals are still on the phone.
6. Let the backup finish and run Test restore with your phrase.
7. Only now delete the old app.

Dates: Vaultpod keeps the original capture date when the file carries one, so your grid stays in order.
