Privacy policy
Last updated 22 October 2026. Zippie Ltd, Nanyuki, Kenya.
The short version
Your photos, videos and documents are encrypted on your iPhone with keys derived from your pattern. We cannot see them, decrypt them, or recover them. There are no accounts.
What stays on your phone
Your files, their names and dates, your pattern, your recovery phrase and your vault keys. None of these are ever sent to us.
iCloud backup
If backup is on (it is by default), encrypted copies of your files go to your own iCloud account through Apple’s CloudKit. Apple stores only encrypted data and cannot decrypt it. We have no access to your iCloud. Turn it off any time in Backup.
iCloud Keychain recovery (optional, off by default)
If you turn it on, your vault key, sealed under a key derived from your pattern, is stored in your iCloud Keychain, which Apple end-to-end encrypts. Anyone with access to your Apple ID and your pattern could then open the vault. The toggle says so.
What we collect
Anonymous usage counts through TelemetryDeck: which onboarding step was reached, whether the paywall was shown, which plan was chosen. No user ID, no device ID, no file data, no names. These counts cannot be linked to you.
Purchases
Handled by Apple. We receive no payment details. Apple’s receipt tells the app whether Pro is active.
Crash reports
Apple’s own, only if you opted in to share analytics with developers in iOS Settings.
Support email
If you email support@vaultpod.app we keep the conversation to answer you and delete it when it is resolved. Never send your pattern or recovery phrase.
Children
Vaultpod is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.
